Our main mission is to provide language education across two faculties (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, Faculty of Information Technology). Along with many English courses we also offer courses of German, Spanish, French and Italian. Our department guarantees an instruction in a bachelor study programme called English for Practice in Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies (BPC-APE).
Apart from teaching, we specialize in linguistic research (translation, pragmatics, sociolinguistics) and language didactics (especially in ESP – English for Specific Purposes).
